Before becoming a writer, Joe picked strawberries to buy his first Apple II computer at age 16, and was hired by Apple in 1984 in an IT role, where a few months later, at 21, he became Technology Advisor to then-Chairman & CEO, John Sculley. He left Apple to work for Steve Job’s NeXT as an advocate, writer, and launch manager of NeXTWorld Magazine, then moved on to freelance technology consulting and writing.
